    Come on nintendo, this online sucks. Take some notes from Sony and microsoft. Even this cheap price doesn't make up for the paywall to play online after paying for the game and internet? You're high Miyamoto. #NintendoGreed

    I still cannot believe they actually gone to this far, i knew nintendo through the Wii console's generations yes i'm not that big of a fan of nintendo but I KNOW that this service is big no no to everyone, even to the loyal fans, come on nintendo, listen to us for the love of god!
    The only good thing about this service is the Save Data Cloud, seriously, but it still has some flaws to it, everyone must know that for the time being.
    And the NES, ah the NES... i may never heard a lot of it because i followed nintendo because of the Wii, but WHO cares about the NES games, what i mean about that is that Nintendo gives like a lot of NES Games that nobody cares about it (Some of them actually is a VERY good one like Metroid), so i do not know what's up with the NES games yet.
    And about the ROM Sites, yeah i know it's illegal and such stuff but, they didn't go down UNTIL Nintendo PLANNED THIS CRAP, if they took those sites down for us to buy their game legally, then where is the VIRTUAL CONSOLE? where did it disappear? when are they going to add this feature to the Switch? this leads us to a brick to SOME games (In my country they don't sell gamecube and their games, which leads to me only to buy it online through virtual console ONLY), if they didn't release the virtual console for us to play some nostalgia games, then there is a lot of games are in a brick wall literally UNLESS you hack the switch, which is bannable and i do not advise you to hack it AT ALL (but has MORE FEATURES than this crap), to play the ROMS, without the ROM sites where we can emulate and play them because it was THE ONLY way to play them, playing some games now is impossible.
    I may get backfired at some point, but TL:DR, This service deserves to be burned, and thrown in a black hole where no one should remember it at all, i'm sorry for this little angry comment but i have to unleash it on nintendo for this abomination.

    The fact that not ALL games are cloud save supported like splatoon 2 and lets go Pikachu/Eevee is unacceptable especially since these are games that players will spend over 100+ hours and more. I can't see animal crossing on the switch being cloud supported either since the reason that its not supported in lets go pikachu/Eevee is because they dont want you going back to your old save file to get a pokemon/item that you recently traded away and in animal crossing on the switch you could probably do the same and maybe item duplication. consoles dont last forever and eventually something is going to happen to your switch.

      Safely enabling save backups for competitive games like Splatoon 2;
      Nintendo have stated that they will not allow people to backup save data for games like Splatoon 2, in order to combat cheating.
      The following simple, yet effective, restrictions can be implemented in the system firmware of the console, in order to prevent cheating, while also allowing people to backup their save progress for these games;
      1. Only allow the system to restore data if there is no save data, or it has become corrupted.
      2. Do not allow people to erase the save data for those types of games.
      Formatting the whole system would obviously erase the save data, but this would still deter players from simply erasing and restoring their save data, like when they lose their rank in Splatoon 2.
      (Please note that these restrictions cannot be based on file date as that could be subject to manipulation, this is why I believe it should be based simply on the presence of valid, uncorrupted save data.)
      For games that require these restrictions, they could easily be integrated into the System Firmware. Just have the system perform the check on whether or not there is already valid save data.
      This is the advantage of this solution. It is so simple to implement, it would work with existing games like Splatoon 2 without needing to patch every single competitive game that you wanted to be protected by these restrictions. No need for complex handshakes with online servers, where you may need to alter/ write additional servlets, and then have to patch all the games to work with those servlets.

    You need more online games first and foremost before this is even viable. Then there's the issue of having to go on a separate device just to use voice chat.. and the app is like a freaking ghost town.. it's uninspired.. Whoever made it could have at least put effort into it..

    Kinda late, but here we go.
    I’m getting a Switch pretty soon, and I was planning to get a few online games with it. I didn’t know this Nintendo Switch Online thing existed. I don’t want to have to pay more money just to get something that USED TO BE FREE. NINTENDO. WAKE UP. NOBODY WANTS THIS.
    Sure, it’s only $20. But, personally, I think they have, I dunno, enough money already? Because, you know, the Switch alone is $300, plus accessories and games and whatnot.
    I’ve never really felt this angry at Nintendo before. This service is terrible.. And the worst part is, *they’re NOT GOING TO FIX THIS.* They won’t listen to their fans. This will be a thing for a while.
    I guess I’m just disappointed. I thought Nintendo was better than this.
