This is an ant keeping hobbyist's dream! The ant farm in this video is something I have absolutely fantasized about having as a kid! In this vlog, we explore the incredible, mind-blowing Atta sp. exhibit of the Espace pour la vie Montreal Insectarium. The exhibit houses a 7 yr old colony of leafcutter ants living in acrylic containers and a network of branches, flowers, and plants.

What makes the exhibit so amazing is that the setup allows for the display of the leafcutter ant workers' foraging behaviours, where they seek out plat matter, cut up the selected leaves and flowers, and carry these huge plants pieces back to the nest where they proceed to chew them up and cultivate the most impressive fungus gardens, which nourish the entire ant colony. We explore in this video just how spectacular these ants and this setup are! Hope you enjoy an epic ant geeking out session!

I was introduced to ants by my father. He was a handyman and would fix stuff for his friends. I was forced to help him as a child Lol. One day he was stung by a wasp and told me, "watch this", took the wasp which he'd slapped to the ground and moved it next to an ant hole... basically these big red ants attacked the wasp and took it apart in a few minutes so it could fit in the hole. I was hooked since. My finger tips were always hurting at the end of the day from getting bit messing around with the ants haha

It's funny, yet sad how you mention nature shows not showing nature anymore. Kinda depressing wondering if my future kids will have any enjoyable, yet fun and informative media in the future. But then find little gems like your channel which actually make me excited, knowing it's out there and more interesting and personal than I think any corporate giant could hope for. I think your channel really does inspire aspiring young ant keepers and scientists everywhere!

Dude your videos started to be all clickbaits, and empty talking.

You don't have to talk trash or give us scientific explanation(some of them are really unnecessary), I was watching you because your videos were like documentary. I think you are out of ideas.

    No hate, I am unsubbing.

You have 3 million subs.. I think it is high time to invest in a gimbal so that you can film your ants without shaking all over the place.

I have to ask, specially noting the open windows in your Ant Room.
You have many species of ants not native to Canada, or the Americas.
Is the Canadian Government not concerned about Ants escaping and establishing themselves as a invasive species ?
Here in South Florida, escaped non native pets, Pythons, Monitors, Iguanas, Oscars, Piranhas are causing havoc with our ecosystem.
    Just saying...
