I used to tell my buddy Christ that little finger is the night king but it turns out he’s actually worse. My new theory is that little finger is Dolores Umbridge

Great video, love your channel! But I feel that this is something George would’ve hinted at much more if it were true. Just doesn’t seem like a gap George would leave blank and too much of the story is focused on rhagar and lyanna being secret lovers. Again would be cool but not too plausible

Rickard, I think, planned on fostering Lyanna with the Martells. I think that's how Rhaegar became so familiar with Lyanna. They kept meeting at the Tower of Joy. Rickard knew he'd need the Martells and he tried to do that with marrying Ned into house Dayne and fostering Lyanna with the Martells. It makes sense because Lyanna is strong and independent and the Martells value that.

An ambitious young shoe maker & a young girl with a bell started the rumor. They are the two pillars that started the rebellion.

But why would Brandon believe LF? What proof would LF have?

  • Ekaterina Ponizovskaya Devine

So Liana said nothing to her brothers and to Robert Baratyan? It is a dick move from her side. Why do we blame LF? If she did not love Robert wasn't it an honest move to tell him? I can understand that she was maybe... didn't want complications. So basically we have to say thanks to R and L, especially L.

I like these videos but with one criticism.

You mention repeatedly the idea that Lyanna and Rhaegar's going off together was consensual and therefore not a kidnapping and that Brandon got the wrong end of the stick.

This makes sense from a modern perspective but it ignores one crucial thing.

In the type of society that Westeros was (ie medieval and feudal Europe) Lyanna as an unmarried girl could not give consent to Rhaegar. She was, in the very literal sense, the property of her father, Lord Rickard Stark until her marriage. Without Lord Stark's permission, Rhaegar going off with Lyanna was, if not an abduction, then at the very least an act of theft, and a grotesque insult to House Stark. This alone would have been enough to arouse Brandon's anger.

  • Activision & EA, Twin Pairs of Destruction

Makes sense.I remember when the Oberyn revealed for the first time in his debut that people like the Martells beleive it wasnt a kidnapping but Lyanna left with him willigly. Starks (besides Ned and Jon) are quick tempered and short minded

They were in love. Bran is talking to Sam and he goes back to see the wedding and he’s referring to Jon Snow and Dany on the boat. That’s why Lyanna gave Jon up to Ned so Robert wouldn’t kill him; I just feel bad for Jon because Cat was really cruel to him and he was a sweet kid! At least had nice siblings and Ned but I don’t the whole he’s a Targaryen thing because he was the true heir and she even says that when their kiss. Then they don’t say anything! “I’m sorry, I Iove u, I had too, why?” Something

The key is that Lysa got Pregnant “that first time” when Petyr called her “Cat”.
Both sisters got pregnant that first time, weeks before Petyr’s duel with Brandon.
Lysa gushed happily to Catelyn, that she was carrying Petyr’s unborn son.
Catelyn tricked Petyr into believing he had indeed slept with “Cat” and she was carrying his unborn baby.
Begging Petyr to fight Brandon, so he could to be with his Queen of love and beauty.

It was one whole year after the tourney before Lyanna disappears, and it was Catelyn who asked Petyr to send the letter about Lyanna’s “kidnapping” in a second attempt to get rid of Brandon Stark.

Catelyn wanted Brandon dead, she told Petyr her unborn bastard was his and they could be a family if he killed Brandon.
Petyr thought he had slept with “Cat”. So he challenged Brandon for Catelyn’s hand.
Catelyn secretly gave Petyr a ribbon as a favour and Petyr fought valiantly for his Queen of love and beauty.
Petyr failed and left Riverrun after recovering. Catelyn did visit Petyr secretly and asked him to send the letter about Lyanna’s kidnap by Rhaegar..

I always assumed that the lie of Lyanna being kidnapped and raped was because of Robert. Makes more than enough sense. I don't think Littlefinger has to be involved for Bobby B to believe his wife to be was kidnapped and spread that idea to all of his men and supporters to fight by his side against Rhaegar and the Targaryens. He could not wrap his head around the fact that she loved someone else. He was so obsessed with her that he couldn't see that she didn't love him. I see how it makes sense Littlefinger telling Brandon that they were together and that is where it comes from, but it was no secret what Rhaegar did at the tournament and people like Varys and Littlefinger would know the truth. The scene in the crypts when LF asks 'how many tens of thousands had to die because Rhaegar chose your aunt' and the look he gives Sansa I think shows the opposite, he knows the truth of their love, and how it was buried by that lie, it doesnt show that he had anything to do with it. But at the same time, it absolutely could. He is not a truthful fellow and it makes sense that this one little lie that helped bring 7 kingdoms and a dynasty to it's knees would be the event to cause LF to begin climbing the chaos ladder as before the rebellion he was still nothing.

This is the first video I've watched on this channel and I really enjoyed it, especially the bit about it being Littlefinger's lie - as soon as I saw the title, his name immediately popped into my head. After all, GRMM has all but confirmed that Littlefinger persuaded Joffrey to execute Ned.
