  • We challenged chefs of three different levels - an amateur, a home cook and a professional chef - to make their versions of lasagna. And then we brought in a food scientist to review their work. Which Lasagna was the best?
Check out the professional's recipe here on the ICE blog: https://www.ice.edu/blog/frank-proto-lasagna-recipe

"of course garlic, it's italian food"
I'm italian and never in my life i've eaten or seen or even heard of a lasagna with garlic. Or pizza with garlic.
Seriously, we barely use garlic in italy, stahp!

"Of course you're gonna put garlic - it's Italian!"

Except for the fact that we usually don't use garlic as Americans tend to think LOL. Garlic is used for fish-based recipes, whereas onion is preferred for meat-based ones. In the case of lasagne, you need "soffritto", which is a mixture of finely chopped onion, carrots, and celery.
Also, I mean, y'all already know, but not even the Level 3 Chef's Lasagna is actually lasagne, just a different interpretation (just stating the facts).
