I couldn't believe what I saw after my pet yellow crazy ants (the Golden Empire) was moved into their new ant farm. This ant colony has been through a lot, including quite recently a mite plague which almost wiped them out. Thankfully, their rehabilitation progress has been promising so today we move them into their brand new home, an AC Hybrid Nest. But what we discover after they move in will shock you!

Ant love forever! This video was shot in 4K Ultra HD resolution.

Special thanks to nature photographer and biologist Alex Wild for allowing his photos to be used in this video. Check out his amazing nature photography and order some prints:

We've gone full circle now. Mites drove them out of their original hybrid nest, now mites drove them back.
At least the mites from the hybrid nest weren't parasites.

How sad that they his to go from their Haven to hybrid nest, I know that it's designed to keep the ants comfy, but it's still sorta sad that they had to go from a huge Haven to a much smaller hybrid nest.

I'm probably very wrong about it being worse, but that's just my opinion, it doesn't have to be true.

What happens if you take an ant colony with 2 queens and seperate them (and the workers) for a few months or so and then unite them again? Would they recognize eachother as colony members or view eachother as intruders (and proceed to engage in warfare)?
