Water Thundering Down the Mountainsides of Big Island

  • Although Iselle is weakening out in the pacific, flash flooding continues near the town of Pahala on the Big Island. Here is some video from Jeff Piotrowski on just how intense that flash flooding is as streams, turned into a deluge of water, are thundering down the mountainsides.
    Weakening Tropical Storm Iselle made landfall near Pahala on the Big Island of Hawaii early Friday and is continuing out into the Pacific with MAX SUSTAINED WINDS of 35 KT WITH GUSTS TO 45 KT and 12 FT SEAS

    Nice to see you on my island, Jeff. I hope you got some good footage of the storm's nighttime passage on the southeast coast - I had a final exam here on Oahu (that was cancelled at the last minute) and missed it.
